Vector graphics are a much cited enhancement to the suite of web authoring technologies on every web designer's wish list. In this article, I explore three of the major contenders on this front and urge interested parties to roll up their sleeves and get working on an implementation.
The ability to create ways to preprocess pages before they display would be a welcome addition to Mozilla's capabilities.
I want scriptability. When I say scripting, I don't mean that silly stuff you use to make images change when the mouse moves over them or the especially annoying technique of scrolling text through the status bar with some clever applications of substring(). No, I'm talking about good old fashioned application extension.
It's critical that Mozilla embed a robust, fast, free JVM as quickly as possible. There is no robust, fast, free JVM. This is a problem. Fortunately, it's not one without a few solutions. Ideas will be moved into these archives from the main page as they are replaced by newer (and maybe even better) ideas. So start thinking.
