Source code to Bugzilla

The source code to the Bugzilla tool itself is also available. You check it out from our CVS server by doing

    cvs checkout mozilla/webtools/bugzilla
Please see our CVS page for information on using our CVS server.

You may also download a tarball of a recent version of Bugzilla from here. If you want a tarball of an older version, they can be found here.

A word on version numbers

tarballs are only made of even-numbered versions. The installed version (and the most recent CVS version, which is the same thing) always have an odd-numbered version. If you want to get exactly the code that mozilla.org is running, you must use CVS, and the version number will be odd. If you want a more stable release, you can use a tarball, and the version number will be even.

On September 15th, 1998, Bugzilla was rewritten (again!) to be entirely in Perl. If you've been avoiding it because you were scared of TCL code, well, it's time to check it out again!

There is now a mailing list devoted to discussions about Bugzilla, and the other webtools developed at mozilla.org. To subscribe, please send a message to mozilla-webtools-request@mozilla.org with a subject of "subscribe". This mailing list is not yet gatewayed to a newsgroup, but probably will be soon.
